Well, sun out again. What a wonderful morning. Left the campsite at Ceduna at 9-30am after getting our gas bottle filled up. Wont make that mistake again......
Heading back to Port Augusta. It's that time when we will have to find temp work etc....
Not a pleasent journey today.. Have about 500km to cover, it's going to be a long day. Stopped for a cuppa in the layby and oh.. never got anything for lunch. Wonder if there is a woolworths that is open..
Have gone through many towns and have seen nobody. Everywhere is like a ghost town. It is getting on and still not found a woolworths.
To break the day up we took some photo's...
The Flinders Ranges..

The Aussie hard shoulder and the Princess Highway - that we are travelling on..

Did see another road user..

And the Aussie water pipe complete with pumping station..

Then we went past a place called Iron Knob. Found out this is where they extract all the Iron Ore from the ground...

When travelling in Oz remember that a Sunday is the day that most large trucks are on the road. This is what they call a road train. About 80 feet long, it takes some planning to overtake this one.

Eventually got to Port Augusta at 4-00pm and found a Foodland that was open. We stopped there and re-stocked the supplies.

On a personal note to all our friends that Know Ian Trask - Thought this might amuse you....

Going on from earning a living I have worked out the way to make a fortune in Oz... Well South Australia anyway. I have found out that the local council are big into re-cycling and pay 10cents per glass/plastic bottle or can etc. Working on this, on our trip today of 500km only on one side of the road I could have made $120.00 so working on this a collection trip would take a week per area, making nearly $1500.00 per week..... sounds good to me.
Have seen more animals by the side of the road. Todays count is...
1 Blackbird.
4 Wallaby's.
Oh and for those of you that have no idea what a Skink is.... its about 12 inches long and looks like this....

Tracy is convinced that a little man with his truck, goes out every day placing these animals there so people will think they are from that area.... MMMMMMMHHH.
Hi Guys,
A bit late today just got in from a BBQ. So that what a skink looks like. Thanks. I asked cat this morning and she had to think hard, but came up with the same answer.
So time to look for some work. Have you had any thoughts? Perhaps if you talk to the man in his van that puts the road kill out you could persuade him to place some litter along the route as well.HO HO.
Take care
Brian
